From a very young age, Mathieu Lenorman has been living in a creative atmosphere that gives pride of place to art in every form. His meeting with the sculptor Jean-Pierre Rives would give rise to his passion for design, his love for objects and more specifically his attraction to transforming metal.

This heavy material would remain a constant companion from his training period in the Videt workshop to his design office nestled at the heart of Paris’ 7th arrondissement. As the mood takes him, he warms it up with a bright colour, mixes it with raw wood or pairs it with one of his finds that he likes to unearth all over the world to add an element of surprise.

Lasting, sturdy and timeless items of furniture, Mathieu Lenorman’s designs are nowadays universally acclaimed the world over.

His designs can be found both in high-end stores and top restaurants as well as private homes from Hong Kong, Paris, New York and Miami to Doha. A real enthusiast, he works on a host of bespoke projects. His expert eye creates bold and surprising decors in atypical settings, on which he leaves his mark without ever destroying their essence.

A modern designer influenced by both Jean Prouvé and Robert Mallet-Stevens, for twenty years he has continued to develop furniture that reflects his own personality – sensitive, generous and original.
